"Established in 1877, Evergreen Cemetery is the oldest secular cemetery still operating in Los Angeles and is the final resting place of many prominent Los Angeles citizens." This blog is to show the photographs I took there and to let more people know about this amazing LA site.

Memorial Wall
Approximately 174 burial sites were discovered during the widening of First St due to the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension construction. After efforts to locate next-of-kin, and after appropriate documentation and historical research, the remains were respectfully reburied within Evergreen Cemetery next to the historic Chinese Shrine. (Information taken from Metro Site Dedication and Memorial Wall Unveiling Ceremony brochure dated March 8, 2010.)
